The supervisor did, at times, commend. Management was like a middle/high school atmosphere. If they decided they didn't like you, you were not treated fairly and talked about behind your back. Kind of a good ol boy attitudes.
Freedom to work independently
Not really. The head baker chooses what she does and can choose to take hours away from other workers or she can pile work that she doesn't want to do on others whenever.
No regular meetings at all even though employees wanted them to male sure every one was on the same page. Management never communicated amongst each other and employees were told different things by different people in management.
Office / Work Environment
No air conditioning in the production area. Extremely hot and poor ventilation.
Holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas the bakers were told we couldn't take any time off.
Inclusive / Diverse
They weren't open to others suggestions or ideas. Thought their ideas were best and employees didn't have any good input.
What I like about the company
Old family bakery. They have been around for awhile, a well known community bakery.
What I dislike about the company
Woman runned business, but gave special preference to males. Didn't listen to employee suggestions. Never had regular meetings to make sure everyone was on the same page. Didn't receive much positive feedback.
