Mission statement and values not adhered to throughout the middle management approach and practices.
Support from management
Leadership had unrealistic goals and micromanaged each position vs. involving local market employees in decision making process.
I found it was not a collaborative or positive team environment in the local office.
Freedom to work independently
Not trusted to work with autonomy, nor respected for the experience level that was brought to the position.
Communication was good from upper management to the site level associates.
I believe this was equal by gender for the most part.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Not so appreciative of an older person in terms of appreciating the customer service and work ethics brought by a senior person.
No flexibility within the training of each position to enable one to learn more or do more than one role.
Overall compensation for your work
I believe the compensation for the experience was underrated. I was not unhappy but was expecting a raise, which did not happen after 3 months of working in an office doing 3 roles for the price of 1.
Office / Work Environment
The local office had nice furnishing and overall adequate in temperature control and technology available was sufficient.
No recycling in the local office.
Began with very little training, was doing 3 positions for the pay of 1, until upper management hired other staff after 4 months of doing our best.
Much of the google reviews until our market got up and running was negative from other areas located outside of ours throughout the company.
Due to the negative attitude in the middle management, most everyone in the local office did not feel their job was secure. Mistrust and poor communication between middle management and the local management of this office.
Safe environment overall. Some issues with the air quality, but corrected eventually.
I had a full array of skills but the duties I ended up with were strictly limited to one area, and was constantly reminded to stay out of helping others, and not given opportunities to learn other positions.
Inclusive / Diverse
It was diverse in hiring, but inclusive is not a good description of the local staff. Very divided in terms of opinions and attitudes and a hostile environment for the most part.
Suggestions for improvement
- Be sure when you hire individuals you choose employees who understand working as a team player, and not out for themselves. This was evident within the office I worked, and there was not a sense of being valued for the positives and achievements. The office politics was evident and unwelcoming for someone who has been in business as a manager overseeing a staff.
What I like about the company
I liked the ability to work from home when needed until middle management changed.
What I dislike about the company
The corporate office staff and values and treatment of the individuals were vastly different then that locally from a value-related standpoint.
