Suggestions for improvement

  • I believe that there is always room for improvement, but I cant think of anything that they could change except their attendance policy. And despite the fact that I was let go due to their overly rigid attendance policy, I can't think of a better place to work.

What I like about the company

I knew for certain that I had made the right decision to work there during my first week, I witnessed all the upper levels of management assist the nurse aides and dietary assistants during meal times with tray passing, they all answered patient call lights, and those that were qualified would even help patients to the bathroom

What I dislike about the company

Only thing I disapproved of was their overly strict attendance policy. My request to move clock in time forward 15 minutes (which worked for all employees involved) was denied with no explanation. I requested the change due to conflicting schedules and a shared vehicle, resulting in an arrival time of about 10 minutes but never more than 15 minutes past clock in time, Their attendance policy is a 7 point system, 1 point for absence and .2 points for tardiness (anything more than 5 min past clock in time) once at 7 points you are terminated, their rigid policy can be difficult if you need even a tiny bit of flexibility with your arrival time

Suggestions for improvement

  • Management needs to be trained better and their idea of "fully staffed" needs to change.

What I like about the company

This company has great values and benefits as a whole. It offers lots of incentives.

What I dislike about the company

The company is too large to oversee every facility as it should be. Things are swept under the rug by management. They don't fully abide by laws (enforcing 2 qualified staff to operate hoyer lift) They want to pack their facilities full and not provide the assistance necessary to care for everyone. Then it falls on CNAs and Nurses if we can't keep up. 2 aides, 1 nurse, and 1 QMA are not sufficient to cover a hall of 25 with most being fully dependent. Then depending on who the DON is you might get subliminally threatened into picking up extra shifts. Lastly, they don't like to abide by medical restrictions. It doesn't matter if you were injured on the job, they won't take you seriously even if a Dr. has signed off stating that you are light duty.

Gender Equality

It's a female-dominated field, but they welcomed male employees.

Attitude towards older colleagues

There was a climate of respect.

Career Development

There were opportunities for growth both in career and education.

Overall compensation for your work

The salary was low for someone with a Master's degree.

Work-Life Balance

There were productivity requirements which required documentation. Often, I had to do the documentation at home, making the work week longer than 40 hours.

Company Image

As far as I could tell, it had a mixed image with clients. Some thought that the services provided by Trilogy were wonderful, others thought much less highly of it.

Job Security

If one did not meet productivity requirements, one could lose their job.

Handicapped Accessibility

It seemed fine.

Workplace Safety

The job required travel to the South and West sides of Chicago, and the potential for work with clients who might be violent. I received good training on dealing with difficult clients, and basic safety guidelines.

Suggestions for improvement

  • The company experienced rapid growth, and I'm not sure they handled it as well as they could have. Some of the offices were understaffed, and other offices had to pick up the slack. So, if they haven't already done so, slow down! Also, the pay is low, just above what's now considered a living wage.

What I like about the company

My colleagues were wonderful.

What I dislike about the company

Productivity requirements.
