Suggestions for improvement
- I would suggest hiring younger minds to be in administrative positions. I would suggest more raises, bonuses, better parking, and separate PTO and sick time hours. I would suggest someone following around administration staff to see how they run their units.
What I like about the company
The patients whom I get to help make the working experience positive. All the politics and drama within the unit is made up for when we get appreciative patients. The reward from helping a patient is worth it.
What I dislike about the company
The administration staff in both units have been unwilling to change things in their unit for a more positive outcome. Certain staff members are treated better than others. The pay is not as great as other hospitals. I have worked on a unit that was not diverse when it came to nurses and I was treated differently. The higher-ups do not want to make changes that would keep their staff happy because they are concerned about budget or just do not want change. The 401k does not start until one whole year of hard work. The sick time you take comes out of the same PTO bank rather than having a separate sick day bank. The list can go on and on.
