Company Culture

There was literally a barrier between the staff and administration. There was a locked door to keep staff from talking with anyone in the front office.

Support from management

If something goes wrong somehow the blame gets shifted to the workers. It was never crossed or conflicting signals from management.

Teamwork

The team works well together to complete a project.

Internal Communication

My boss could not answer more than one question in an email. He would answer the first one and reply, missing the other few questions. Reasking the questions get me in trouble for asking too many questions.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Nope. It's cheaper to hire two young workers rather than an older worker with experience in the business. Most of the time you can get away with that. But when there was a knotty engineering issue, the youner people did not have a clue.

Career Development

They did spring for training.

Office / Work Environment

Tiny offices that would only allow company sanctioned wall hangings-all company PR.

Work-Life Balance

There was little consideration for family. You were supposed to just work.

Company Image

The employees compalined among themselves.

Job Security

Not at all. A technician with 12 years with the company was suddenly let go without any warning. He was devastated.

Handicapped Accessibility

Doesn't apply. It's a one story, ground floor building.

Workplace Safety

I did not see any safety training.

Suggestions for improvement

  • It is a classic fearsome iron fist environment. If you treat people with respect they will reciprocate.

What I like about the company

The work is good. It is in my field and I enjoy doing it.

What I dislike about the company

The us/them attitude between admin and the people really doing the work is awful. More than once I discivered changes in specifications without anyone telling me. "Oh, didn't I tell you?"
