Company Culture

HQ is for the most part in its own world.

Support from management

locally - great . Upper management throws goals you cannot keep because they also throw new directives that slow down you ability to answer phones and help more customers who need parts.

Teamwork

Locally, everyone knows there job and helps each other overcome the short comings that corporate throws at us.

Freedom to work independently

depends on the manager if they want to micro-manage.

Internal Communication

Can take a week or more to get answers or help. it used to be worse so there is some hope.

Gender Equality

the industry is not one where women want to work but once they are hired, they can advance too.

Overall compensation for your work

TruckPro is known to not pay as well as some of the other Heavy Duty Truck Parts Companies for the hourly peolple.

Environmental Friendliness

some store managers care - others don't.

Work-Life Balance

They are competitive with other companies for PTO. There are no scholarships for employee children.

Workplace Safety

I've been to several stores. It depends on the manager if the place is safe and clean.

Challenging Work

There is a lot to do as quickly as possible. kind of stressful when corporate decides they need asap.

Suggestions for improvement

  • High management needs to get us an up to date program that works fast and make sure we don't run out of parts at the store level.HQ ordering dept is not the greatest. Sales would be up at least 5% just for one of these improvements.

What I like about the company

Could be a great company if they get things fixed

What I dislike about the company

HQ has an attitude that they know best when they actually hinder the stores ability to sellmore parts.

Company Culture

More of a family orientated company. People are friendly between locations. It's not all about "ME".

Support from management

Due to this being a growing company, most of the people in store support are overwhelmed. It's hard to get in contact some times. Marketing is the weakest point.

Teamwork

Everyone pitches in to get things done. There is good communications between stores to help with transferring parts. Help is always a call away.

Freedom to work independently

If you can't work independently here you don't fit in. If you know what you are doing this is the place to show it.

Internal Communication

There are a few who believe all decisions are made at the top prior to seeing how it will effect those of us in the field.

Gender Equality

I see no problems here.

Attitude towards older colleagues

The average age in most parts stores is 50 plus. Something is missing. The business is not attracting the younger generations like it was when I was in my early twenties.

Career Development

Companies used to spend money to train their people. Truck Pro has eliminated all positions regarding internal trainers. And I do not see them sending anyone to factory training. There is no set policy to show someone where they are headed in the future.

Overall compensation for your work

It could be better. I believe we might be getting a bit top heavy.

Office / Work Environment

All the necessary items are supplied. It is sometimes chaos due to high volume hours.

Environmental Friendliness

It is what you make it. Work hard and it will pay off.

Work-Life Balance

They don't like paying overtime. You can put in your 40 and go home. The company if fair about paid time off/vacation.

Company Image

We are up there with the best of them, but Marketing could carry us over the top.

Job Security

You have to do something pretty stupid to lose your job here. But if you are good at your job you are safe. I reference back to the part where we don't have very many young people coming in.

Challenging Work

It appears to me it's up to the individual. Inside work is very challenging at times. Staff is kept lean. (did I mention top heavy?). Time doesn't always allow for very much direction. The more you are willing to take on the more you are given to do.

Inclusive / Diverse

We have a good mix throughout.

Suggestions for improvement

  • The company could invest more into the employees by sending them to factory schools or setting up regional locations where employees could attend factory training. Look for ways to gain the interest of younger people. Truck parts isn't the same as auto parts. The marketing department needs to be more proactive with sales flyers and promotional supplies.

What I like about the company

I like that I can do my job and not be micro-managed. We have a competitive 401 and insurance programs in place. This is more of a family orientated company where there is cooperation between employees and branches.

What I dislike about the company

The support groups are overburdened and slow to respond at times. There is a big lack in training. Staff is kept too slim to allow for more internal training time.
