Suggestions for improvement
- competitive salary, decent benefits, more professional environment, less nepotism. too many employees were allowed to behave like children, not work, and cause interpersonal drama without consequence. Many members of the management staff were inexperienced in real professional jobs and had an immature view of what was appropriate at work.
What I like about the company
Very little. The only real perk for me was having my own office and the work load is very light. No opportunity for promotion unless you were in the "inside clique". This would be a decent job while going to school but not a good career choice in and of itself.
What I dislike about the company
The pay was low but comparable for Volusia County. As a member of management I made less than 22k a year. It was difficult to get a raise even when it was deserved. It took 3 months for me to get a review I was promised and even then I had to be assertive in requesting a raise and had to continue to press it. Although it was eventually approved (at a meager 5%) I felt that the request had simply been discarded and the hope was that I would just take no answer as an answer.
