Very little recognition of achievement or exemplary work. Very "clique-y" atmosphere.
Support from management
Upper management is very arbitrary in their decision-making, unapproachable to workers, condescending to employees at a lower level. Many good managers/supervisors leave due to inability of lead teams to work together.
Certain teams are very good, but most teams that include upper level operations are tainted by failure to take accountability.
Freedom to work independently
Departmental restructuring is rarely done with input from the affected department.
Communication good at times, but with occasional major gaps.
Women in all levels of management. Some men are not as equality-conscious, but the company is respectful.
While the turnover rate is high, internal promotion is rare.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay for production floor workers is very good, while pay for employees with degrees borders on insulting.
Office / Work Environment
Some production floor issues with noise, same with cubicles, otherwise very good.
Most employees are on a 2-2-3, 12 hr. Employees forced to transfer to this schedule. Some lose their jobs when they are unable to accommodate the schedule.
Very few people have good things to say. Most see this company as a stepping stone. High turnover rate.
Reorganization is common, as is the sudden release of employees with no notice. Frequent "walk-outs" of even higher level employees.
Employees denied services such as EAP. No handicapped accessibility in many areas.
Safety is a large concern and standards are in place to keep safety levels high. Accidents still occur, but no major safety concerns.
Depends on the department. Work ranges from box packers to engineering.
Inclusive / Diverse
There were several issues with benefits for LGBT.
What I like about the company
I was able to do my work mostly free of intrusion or micro-management. Many employees are friendly and personable.
What I dislike about the company
Very little appreciation for employees. Seen as a number, not a person. Human resources very unapproachable. Upper management condescending. Culture promotes deceit.
