Their story of overcoming great hardships is something amazing. However what they have turned this place into is one sad ashtray in the middle of nowhere.
Support from management
Other than the handful of managers that I have encountered there is no support to move forward. If you are lucky enough to be "seeing" a manager then you will go far.
A casino is a harsh business. Little rules for everyone and most positions are based on tips. Which means going solo, and there are a lot of times where feelings are hurt and tensions get high when you do not make enough to make the payments.
Freedom to work independently
You are expeceted to do your job in any work environment. If you don't and no one likes you; fired. If you are liked you will never be harmed.
You have no say, except to complain to the other workers you see on daily basis.
Women are to stay on the floors and maybe become supervisors, I do not think within my 4 years that I saw anyone get above that position.
Attitude towards older colleagues
A man was fired 3 weeks before his retirement for "tardiness". This shows the respect that they have for their older workers.
Within a casino nothing that is a 9-5 type of opportunity. Casino with 24 hour operation gets rough, especially when you are a salaried position. You can move up just need to know the correct people.
Overall compensation for your work
The pay is good starting out, the benefits is why some people are stuck in this position. Beware, if you go in with no skills and stay because the money is good you will be another 60 year old server.
Office / Work Environment
Casino, little positions are within a office experience.
HAS THEIR OWN HEALTH INSPECTIONS! STATE DOES NOT CONDUCT THEM. BLACK MOLD ALL OVER THE BAR AND IN THE ICE. 5 stars to get attention.
One of the best parts of the casino because it was a 24 hour operation was pretty nice. I was a busy college student and it was perfect.
Look up the owner, not a great track record.
Working with mostly women, be careful, and have paper trails for everything. Coworkers will try to get you if they do not like you.
Very accessible, ramps everywhere and bathrooms have a lot of support for people in wheelchairs. Elevators located in many parts of the building and automatic doors at every entrance.
Medical staff on site 24/7 and are very fast to react to medical emergencies.
Easy work, Server, Bartender, Cashier, Dealer, Cage operator, Gaming attendant, management.
Inclusive / Diverse
Very diverse, only positive part is that they brought a lot of different cultures together.
What I like about the company
The pay and if you are lucky enough to get a manager that cares about the individual people on their team.
What I dislike about the company
Unfair way they treat the employees they do not like, biased hiring system, no real training for advancement.
