Suggestions for improvement
- We are getting better every day.
I enjoy working at UNC because of its mission for service, scholarship, and research.
There is a rampant nepotism problem that has been brought up and ignored many times. In certain departments, there is a disparity between the demographic of staff that are given professional development/career advancement opportunities. The faculty are valued extremely highly whereas staff are treated as if they are there to serve at the pleasure of faculty and high level administrators. The pay is not competitive with market rates and opportunities for salary increase are not tied to performance which is dis-incentivizing and affects morale. The state's benefits plan has also become more costly, in particular for those who must pay to cover dependents.
