I my department, the employees nwere very friendly and supportive. However, there were times when the senior employees resisted ideas from the newer employees.
Sometimes the information was management was not disseminated very well.
Not a lot of room for growth. People do not leave until they retire.
Overall compensation for your work
A state employer so wages are muted.
Suggestions for improvement
- I suggest that they encourage change and job advancement.
What I like about the company
My co-workers for caring and friendly. The job was interesting and was a good first job out of school. It was a good stepping stone.
What I dislike about the company
There is not a lot of opportunity to advance. UNC has a country club atmosphere and if you just show up and do the bare minimum and not rock the boat then your job is safe and you get state benefits. For people who want to move up and encourage change, working at UNC can be difficult.
