I work with professional people who are experts in their field. Communication among leadership and person's working directly with clients is poor, very poor
No, it is a very flat organization
Office / Work Environment
The building is poorly constructed and the temperature is often way too cold
Because of the work we do for families
The work I do isn't challenging but requires logistics and organizational skills from other's which are not part of the organization
Inclusive / Diverse
Though there isn't much we are trying to focus recruitment on a more diverse population of people. We're mostly white women
Suggestions for improvement
- There are area clinics which do not have the staff to provide services and the hiring process is very slow. We need more LCSW, LPC, and other licensed clinicians in all of our clinics. Additionally we have almost no males or people of color or bilingual on staff and recruitment must be focused on this issue. Additionally we need to reduce the number of people in administration who don't actually do anything helpful. They push paper around and answer phones but don't do enough to help families - non team players.
What I like about the company
My work is satisfying and I learn so many new ideas and information about the population I work. My supervisor and colleagues are nationally known experts in our field so my own personal professional development is enhanced daily. There is a great understanding of family needs even unexpected ones. If you want more to do or change your direction there are opportunities. I've been here 12 years and it is the best job I've had.
What I dislike about the company
Leadership makes decisions which are not well communicated to the people in the offices who are affected by the decisions. Also, we spend time training on systems which we are unable to use to be more efficient. Those changes have to come from leadership but they don't act upon them. I would like more opportunities to advance in the organization and to make more money but with state restrictions it is hard.
