The company culture is in no way reflected in the small store's atmosphere. It's pretty different.
Attitude towards older colleagues
What older colleagues? Everyone there is younger than 30.
Suggestions for improvement
- Make changes to the number of staff hired. Too many people on rotation means no one gets enough hours to stay at Journey's. That should be fixed.
What I like about the company
Underground is a fun, laid back place to work if you have the motivation to sell and an outgoing attitude. If you find working in retail enjoyable, this job could be for you. Besides shoes, there are only a few other items to tend to, making it easier to keep organized than, say, a clothing store. For anyone looking for a VERY part-time job, this is it.
What I dislike about the company
It's difficult for introverted employees who prefer behind-the-scenes work and is always either empty and boring or crowded and hectic. Even six customers in at once is too many to properly fit into the corner unit that is Underground, which frustrates customers and sends them away in haste. In addition, the hours are never good for someone looking to work more than once a week.
