I like about the employer
Should be diverse opportunity with employer of that size but their level of impunity is staggering. Every year, on the employee annual survey, the employees rate their health insurance as intolerable/worst--for a health insurance company. That fact bespeaks volumes!
I dislike about the employer
Pressure to cover-up and play along. CEO was caught price fixing stock options--and paid $600 mil in fines and still walked with $1.1 bil--as entire C-Suite also enjoyed huge personal profit. Ingenix was found guilty of price fixing entire fee schedules for providers and hospitals in industry. UHG paid fine, and then just changed the name to Optum. This type of impunity is reflected in the C-Suite's aggressive "growth by acquisition" to boost their own stock options w/o any integration of acquisitions' systems to actually bring them into compliance right down to similarly abusing their own employees for their own health insurance...When the government investigates--UHG's lobbyists get the gov't to allow UHG's hired consultants to run the audits of UHG, instead of the government. "Shades of Enron" --and worse! The general counsel for UHG was a former Attorney General--and now works for the big law firm that defends UHG against gov't investigations. It is a complete conflict of interest--to anyone with any semblance of ethics. Such an attitude from the top, means all sorts of abuses--work there at your own peril!! GlassDoor's employee rating of United Health Group at 2 stars out of 5, also is an absolute red flag!
