A department that was a complete waste of taxpayers money
Support from management
Management was non existant.
Had no idea how people worked together.
Freedom to work independently
Most people had nothing to do.
Upper management staff concentrated on careers after retirement. COmmunicated more with contractors than employees.
Women had positions throughout management.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Anyone over 40 had nothing to do.
Since I became visually impaired while working there they decided I was untrainable.

Office / Work Environment
Asbestos was constantly being taking out of rooms. Mold was in all the ceilings.
Good recycling program.
Worked out great for those that liked to go golfing on take long lunches.
I was ashamed to work for the Headquarters.
Constant downsizing affected the young. I finnaly took an early out.
Very accesible for folks.
Seemed safe except for the black mold and all the cancer cases.
Everyone was overpaid. High school students could do the work
Inclusive / Diverse
Workplace was diverse.
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire the dead weight instead of doing nothing with them. There were people in the department that had no idea how to do a spreadsheet and they were in IT!
What I like about the company
Until I moved into the Headquarters (due to downsizing) I loved my job. Great projects, traveled all over the US working on classified projects. Supervised 60 personnel. Mentored several employees that went on to do great things.
What I dislike about the company
Senior management should not be allowed to be involved in giving contracts to people they will eventually work for. This includes military personnel. Ratings are giving on a bell curve. You may have 30 great people but only a handful can be awarded pro
