Suggestions for improvement
- While those of us who have long-time experience working in non-profits understand there is little to do about low salaries, my company could slack the reigns in regards to other things: 1. flexibility in dress code for non-meeting days 2. more opportunities to work from home 3. less rigid flex-time policies 4. digital timesheets 5. a more liberal purchasing system (like a p-card system, where employees that purchase often are allowed credit cards of their own) 6. A real deep-dive into our own shortcomings in internal diversity and board diversity
What I like about the company
It is like a large family--most everyone is there for the mission, and it is a people-focused mission.
What I dislike about the company
It suffers from the pitfalls of most non-profits (i.e., low salaries, too much work with too few staff) yet also tries too much to mimic the culture of the corporate partners we work with (we're slow moving with decisions and have too little flexibility with employees--dress, flexible hours, working from home, etc).
