Leadership lacks a coherent vision for the University leading to confusion and politics.
Suggestions for improvement
- Upper management needs to change. Workload and salary problems need to be addressed.
What I like about the company
UWSP is located in a nice area of Wisconsin and the community is great. The students are hard working and interested in their studies. As a faculty you get a chance to work with some talented young people.
What I dislike about the company
The pay is terrible and is getting worse each year. Work load is also bad, especially since so many have left with the budget changes at the state government level. Perhaps the worst part though is the administration. It lacks a vision for what the university should do with its budget challenges and infighting among the leadership team has created a highly charged political environment. Many of the faculty have left because there is virtually no salary growth and no support from administration.
