Most employees try to hide just to make it through the day and then the week without being let go.
Very little to no leadership support. Training is terrible.
You feel like you are working on an island.
You can do things on your own but it will come back to bite you in the end.
Tremendous number of internal E-mails that can be helpful but overwhelming. Many other employees don't even take the time to respond to the E-mails you send out.
In general there was no discrimination that I could tell. There was a club though and if you were not a part of it you had issues.
I feel I was let go due to age discrimination as well as many of my colleagues.
This company flies from the seat of it's pants. On the exterior it appears that there are many programs to support employees but once you dig in you realize that there are no processes and what they do have is developed poorly.
Base salary is very good here. Bonus programs are usually not laid out until late in the year for bad intention on the companies part.
Outside of being isolated the conditions are OK.
This topic never came up.
The expectations from work are exhausting. Short notices are given to complete work out of the blue. Work, that if done properly, should take about 1 month is asked for in 2 - 3 days without notice.
Most employees I talked to hated their jobs and were just trying to make it through the day.
There is no job security as the company was not adverse to letting go large numbers of people at a time. I saw this happen many times until I was let go in a cost cutting scenario.
I can't say that I have an answer for this
I did not get a feeling that this company was as safety conscience as others that I have worked at. They made a big deal out of safety but I had the impression that it was nothing more than an act.
I never felt a sense of accomplishment as the majority of the work completed was ignored. I was not proud of the finished product that was offered as it fell way short of customer expectations.
No opinions or ideas were supported.
There was not much I cared for Univar as an employer other that the base salary.
There were tremendous amounts of customer complaints that always fell on deaf ears.
