Watch your back!
Support from management
Very poor cohesive leadership. groups and/or cliques are prolific
Every person for themselves.
Freedom to work independently
The vast majority of staff do not understand the underpinnings that keep a campus running. Therefore, they would rather not be bothered about it. No willingness to learn, or otherwise try to understand is fostered at all management levels.
While a good review structure is in place, it is heavily skewed with the preferences of superiors and key information and accomplishments can be left out at the supervisors discretion with little recourse for the employee being reviewed to make changes or include feedback that will be heard.
Absolutely no support for any training other than state or federally mandated training.
Office / Work Environment
Environmentally, not a bad place at all. Aesthetically well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In my sector, there was no "off" time and what time is away from campus must be considered "on call" time with a response time of under 30 minutes. Vacation days are allowed but only if phone calls will be answered.
Brought in one of my former employers for a career night where prospective employees could interview employers. I was told that the prospective grads were entry level at best. Was told by several other employer representatives that UTI stood for "Un-Trained Idiots"
Poor at best. See other comments for details. Essentially a poor product will always loose market share and eventually fail.
Absolutely the most challenging job I have ever done. literally 2 weeks away from loosing their occupancy permits. I was able to get everything in order and actually started to mend fences with the city and county.
Suggestions for improvement
- Eliminate the oppressive politics, games and yes, turf wars. Recognize talent where it is and avoid "the good 'ol boys club" mentality.

What I dislike about the company
A lot. Particulars would require a good deal of room to list out. This is not a good forum to accomplish this.
