Company Culture

I don't believe the employer treated employees with fairness in all aspects.

Support from management

Management didn't resolve common problems between staff and really instigated more than help.

Teamwork

Most employees were team players, but there were a few ones that didn't pull their weight.

Freedom to work independently

Often the workload was not fairly distributed.

Internal Communication

Meetings were done as far as performance within the department. No profits were discussed.

Gender Equality

I don't feel I was appreciated for the work I provided. The profession alone was very underpaid whereas someone with no direct patient care would get paid more.

Attitude towards older colleagues

To some degree there where senior workers but I'm uncertain as their support was done.

Career Development

It is difficult to advance or transfer within the organization. New Employees were being hired while current employees were being overlooked for qualified positions. Seniority didn't matter.

Overall compensation for your work

Medical benefits were ok, salaries did not match they profession and unsatisfactory. I could no longer work for a company that cheats their employees in such a manner.

Work-Life Balance

You we're able to request days off if needed. That was flexible but came with some restrictions as well.

Company Image

No the image doesn't reflect reality. Not everyone adhered to the companies RITE knowledge pledge which wasn't right.

Job Security

I'm no longer employed with UC Health which was my decision. There was some changes that was going on that I didn't agree with, in addition to the wages not being fair across the board.

Suggestions for improvement

  • re-evaluate salary by profession, there is no way a person doing environmental services or instrument sterilization for example should get paid more than anybody that provides direct patient care. Compensate your employees for the hard work they do to care for the patients that are being serviced and you'll have more employees staying around for the long haul instead of having a large volume of turnovers.

What I like about the company

Give you an opportunity to meet and work with some good people, overall.

What I dislike about the company

The organization is not as loyal to their employees as the employee is to them. I perhaps would have stayed with them through retirement age if the compensation wasn't so low and not matching surrounding companies.
