Suggestions for improvement
- 1. Now that they have a new Dean of the school of Medicine, I would do a "house cleaning in the middle". Many of the MD's in roles of department leadership need to be replaced~the University culture of promoting senior MD's into positions of leadershipis in fact a major barrier that prevents the Hospital from moving forward. Please remember that unlike most of the other MD groups, the MD's have three areas of responsibility. 1) teaching new MD's, 2) Research and 3) seeing patients. I list the three areas in a specific order for a reason. In the specialty medicine areas (ie Neurology). Please know that the SOM rules the UCH hospital system.... they hospital pays wages that are typically below market.....I was a Practice Manager for the hospital and would recommend that two of the local unions approach the hospital and request a card count....It would serve the RN well to be unionized.....
