Support from Management
Weak support from supervisors. It's not a good sign when you boss, who holds a director title, does 90% of the gossiping and bad mouthing of faculty and staff. Does not create an environment of growth but cultivates fear and resentment.
Perhaps it's the department and not the entire school, but many employees have been here their entire lives and believe because of that, they deserve higher pay and perks, regardless of performance. Very difficult to learn the correct procedures when the people teaching you do not even do things properly.
