What employees say

Employees like

I've grown immensely working here thanks to professional development offered. I've also watched innovation be stifled with red tape and great minds move to private sector. Academic research is definitely not for everyone.
I liked working with the U of M system because our hospital was one of a larger system. I liked the people I worked with and the types of patients we cared for.
The researchers are leading the field. The team science in the medical school is strong.
Interesting place to work, a lot of great things are being worked on.
This was my first position and I LOVED working with my peers on my unit. We were close and got together outside of work routinely as well. We took great care of our patients and truly worked as a team.

Employees don't like

Better communication between supporting staff and patients. Some supporting staff need instructions in the use of the English language.
Been made aware of the upcoming changes during my interview
There’s a toxic working environment with negativity
I do not disapprove of any particular parts of the company
How they spend money, treat certain employees.

Suggestions for improvement

I thought highly of my manager, but it was only her and another gal that provided the leadership for the unit. There were also no restrictions on the number of patients a nurse could have and that did not work well for me.
I do not have any specific improvements that should be made
It would've been great to have been a Magnet facility. that would've supported and fostered shared governance not just for nursing but for all disciplines.
More staffing. More supporting staff for the professional staff so they are not bogged down with routine paperwork
Increase interventions for employees with HR with conflict resolution.
