- University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX / United States)24.Nov 2015
Immediate department team members work well together, but teamwork among all university faculty and staff is sometimes lacking.
Small university. Opportunity for growth somewhat limited.
Sometimes difficult to take vacation during full semesters. Ample university holidays do not affect vacation time.
Challenging in terms of limited personnel resources. Very proud of what we are able to accomplish with a small team.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diverse as far as race and social standing status. Upper leadership is very conservative, as should be expected at a private Catholic institution.
What I like about the company
Can be very relaxed work atmosphere if you don't get involved in university politics. Ample university holidays are in addition to regular paid vacation time.
What I dislike about the company
Yearly cost of living wage increases are solely dependent upon tuition/enrollment figures. Have never received a raise based on merit.
