Suggestions for improvement
- There is only one workplace policy that elicits a artificial culture and happens to inadvertently disrupt my working environment that I see as needing to be repealed and reformed and that is the inside can facing camera. Who wants a camera two feet from their face for hours a day that stays on 24 hours a day with a microphone. A camera staring at me while I work, eat, and sleep unless I block it. Not me.
What I like about the company
I've had many problems/ issues arise while driving over the road and, for the most part, the staff and management at USA Truck have always been really helpful.
My truck broke down and had to be taken to the International dealership in Nashville to be repaired. Then I was told that the part had to be ordered so I'd probably be down a week. My company pays a decent downtime pay ($75-100 per day) so... But the best thing about the downtime was the 4 star hotel I got to "vacation" at.
I was stuck in Nashville for 10 days total staying in a nice hotel and getting paid to see the sites. I was thinking at that time that I had one of the best jobs in the world. I'd recommend working for USA Truck especially now since they've raised the pay rates 18 cents per mile this year 2018.
What I dislike about the company
I disapprove of the camera that faces on the inside of the cab that I work, eat, and sleep in. You can start feeling like you're in a lightweight reality show called truckers view or watch the road starring you.
