Company culture and fringe benefits are great for those that are in the "club" . The President has her close allies who do as little as possible to get by and the rest of the "workers" suffer if they don't keep quiet. The link below will give you an insight into what it is like to work at USM0tivation. It is anything but motivating. stouhttps://www.themuse.com/advice/9-everyday-habits-thatll-earn-you-a-pretty-bad-reputation-around-the-office?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=9%20Everyday%20Habits%20That%27ll%20Earn%20You%20a%20Pretty%20Bad%20Reputation%20Around%20the%20Office&utm_term=Daily%20Email%20List
Support from management
There is no support from leadership. They should not be called leaders, only senior (in age) management.
Freedom to work independently
There is no empowerment within this organization. Management is always looking over your shoulder and will NEVER support you.
Don't believe the "open door policy" The only door you will see if you do, is the door to the unemployment office!
Attitude towards older colleagues
This gets a high rating because of the old and outdated policies in place due to the old management who has been around forever and want to keep doing things the same way they have always been done. There is no innovation or creativity and policies and procedures are as outdated and irrelevant as the senior management who enforce them.
There is no opportunity for advancement unless you are in the "President's clicque" If you are, she will create a job and a title for you just to keep you employed. What she won't do is create is a job description for those people. They get paid to show up (anytime they want) There is no senior management accountability.
Overall compensation for your work
Wages are low for the hours you work and the frustration of having to do everything manually!
Office / Work Environment
The senior management is paranoid and dishonest. They claim to have an open door policy but this is only true if you are complimenting them or acting like a "mole" to undermine a fellow employee. It is a very kindergarten mentality which rewards "tattling" and finger pointing . mentality"
For a company that is 50 years' old, no one in the industry knows who they are.
Suggestions for improvement
- There needs to be a complete change in senior management if this company wants to grow and thrive.
What I like about the company
Some of the people I worked with were the brightest in the industry. They won't stay long...
What I dislike about the company
Management is paranoid , dishonest, self serving and selfish. There is no empowerment or encouragement for a job well done. The only feedback is negative. All the perks of the industry go to the senior management. They go on all of the best industry FAM trips and don't communicate any incentives available to the rest of the team.
