- Valley Glass Inc.08.Dec 2016
Family owned business. Employees are willing to help each other. Small staff.
Support from management
Support is there, all you have to do is ask. Sometimes it may take a while however to get what you need.
Everyone is in it together. There are bonuses for everyone if the shop exceeds expectations.
Freedom to work independently
In the sales department you are in charge of your day, where to go, who to meet.
Open communication all of the time.
The sales manger is a female and my coworkers were female. Equality is no problem at Valley Glass.
Because it is family owned, there is little opportunity for advancement. However sales experience can be obtained.
Overall compensation for your work
Commission. Your earning potential is based on your efforts.
Office / Work Environment
Office was older but being updated.
Not bad but not great. Glass just goes in a dumpster.
Very open to letting me meet the needs of my family. Would get calls during off hours, but sales is about relationships so taking those calls is extremely important.
Reputable company respected by the community. I am proud to have worked there.
Company plays it safe, only hires the employees they need. No worries about being laid off because of downsizing. Do your job, keep your job.
They are HUGE on safety. Safety meting once a week!
The work is rewarding and can be challenging if you struggle speaking to people constantly and building new relationships. Otherwise it's pretty simple.
Inclusive / Diverse
Open to suggestions but like any company culture, it is hard to create change.
Suggestions for improvement
- Keep doing what you are doing. Management is great.
What I like about the company
Family owned with upper management being open to lower level employees. Respected and trusted by the community.
What I dislike about the company
Little opportunity for advancement.
