Valmont Industries began in 1946 when our founder, Robert B. Daugherty combined his $5,000 savings and wholehearted belief that business could and should be done better. We are a diversified global producer of fabricated metal products and are a leading producer of steel and aluminum pole, tower and other structures in our Engineered Infrastructure Products (EIP) segment, steel and concrete pole structures in our Utilities Support Structures (Utility) segment and are a global producer of mechanized irrigation systems in our Irrigation segment. We also provide metal coating services, including galvanizing, painting and anodizing in our Coatings business.
Our products sold through the (EIP) segment include outdoor lighting and traffic control structures, wireless communication structures and components and roadway safety and industrial access systems. Our pole structures sold through our Utility segment support electrical transmission and distribution lines and related power distribution equipment. Our irrigation segment produces mechanized irrigation equipment that delivers water, chemical fertilizers and pesticides to agricultural crops.
Customers and end-users of our products include state and federal governments, contractors, utility and telecommunications companies, manufacturers of commercial lighting fixtures and large farms as well as the general manufacturing sector.

The company was founded on good standards tgat the Elkhart IN facility ignores completely
Management NEVER around when needed. Terrible people in charge.
Shifts work against each other. Management refuses to step in to help solve issues
When place iperstes good, it runs good. WHEN it runs good, which is infrequent at best
Comminication is NIL. They dont even do standard safety tests OR follow osha guidelines
Overall, I would rate the company culture a 9.
Yes, leadership set realistic expectations, communicated clear goals, and involved employees in the decision making process the majority of the time.
All employees at the facility worked well together and interacted in an honest and direct manner. Due to this, everyone considered each other family.
Office personnel are trusted to work independently the majority of the time, so long as they produce results. There is more of a strict schedule in place for production employees.
