There are no accolades given at Verizon, so if you are a person who needs them to gauge how well you are doing your job, please think twice before applying. Also, if you are a contractor have a thick skin. The contractors are treated immensely differently in within this company and often times will be ostracized. If you have a thick skin, you can probably stand to be a contractor here. The company culture as a whole is very skewed when it comes to the difference in employee vs contractors. The contractors are completely alienated and made to feel second class, while the employees are considered "golden". This is even in the smallest of tasks. An example I could use is team meetings, only employees are permitted in the team meetings despite the contractors having to work with the same systems and complete the same tasks. My team always came back and told me what was discussed in the team meetings, but still, it would save time and confusion to not have a clear divide between the two.
Support from Management
I can only go off of my experience with these reviews, but I never really saw any strong leadership with anyone. There was no communication in training/how to improve/teamwork/office morale/conflict resolution. It seemed as though all of the managers and directors were distant from the workers and there was a huge disconnect between the separate levels.
