Suggestions for improvement
- Consequences for poor care. We need a patient mobility team. Quiet hours and fewer overhead pages. We need an enforced rule that no one regardless of department passes a door with a call bell ringing without checking on the patient. We need better house keeping. We need staff nurse leadership.
What I like about the company
I have worked with friendly and amazingly knowledgeable nurses... unfortunately they don’t stay.
What I dislike about the company
Poor care demands consequences. I don’t want to work somewhere where the management turns a blind eye to CNAs hiding out chitchatting and playing on phones in rooms rooms where the door is closed. When the PTs get someone up to a chair, I want help and not a whole lot of drama when the patient needs help getting back to bed. I don’t want to hear legitamate complaints about unanswered callbells all day when I know no unit secretaries are at the desk. I don’t want to hear excessive overhead pages all day long because everyone is ignoring callbells. Our patients and their families deserve so much more. I love this patient population, but I am looking for a new job. It could be a wonderful place to work, instead of an embarrassing place to work if actions had consequences.
