Too Many Layoffs

2.61

Company Culture

Depends on what part of the company you work in. There is a lot of inequity between departments.

Support from management

I always felt that there were underlying activities taking place and you really had to fight for what you thought was right. And even then, a project may have been pushed thru.

Teamwork

Always felt like people didn't want others to play in their sandbox. Very little collaboration with the CARE team and Product.

Internal Communication

It appears that they are always trying to keep the employees informed but most of the communications sent out are vague and related to things that may not be relevant to specific sites.

Gender Equality

Very few woman in management positions.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Many older colleagues were let go in the last few years.

Career Development

Does not exist.

Overall compensation for your work

Decent pay and bonuses for a job well done.

Office / Work Environment

Holmdel, NJ office was very pleasant place to work. Cafeteria stipend of $100 for the month and the fitness center was available 24 hours. Plenty of parking.

Environmental Friendliness

Not enough recycling for my liking.

Work-Life Balance

It's what you make it and who you report to. There is no mandatory overtime, etc., not anymore.

Job Security

With the acquisition of new companies, there were a lot of "redundancies" and people have been let go. Multiple layoffs in a short period of time.

Challenging Work

Always a challenge to stay ahead of the curve. You have to remain flexible in an ever changing environment.

Suggestions for improvement

  • CLEAN OUT THE HR DEPARTMENT. Everything is done online and it's almost impossible to call/contact a human in HR. They have changed systems so many times for evaluations and still they stink.

What I like about the company

Generous to the NJ, NY employees after Hurricane Sandy. The company went above and beyond to find housing and support for displaced employees. They stepped up when the employees needed a place to take a hot shower, and have use wifi.

What I dislike about the company

Always got the feeling that the tail was wagging the dog. Many decisions were made with out understanding the consequences. Just push it out the door (product) and hope someone will buy it.
