What I like

The concept of the company is good. They just need to enforce it at all stores.

What I dislike

Most management. We don't even trust going to our H R person because she gossips. And this store does not follow the company morals and values.

Suggestions for improvement

Stop working the employees so hard. Alot of times we don't get our 15 minute breaks, if we do, we are behind on our work.

Company Culture

It is hard to judge wether it is the company or just our store.

Internal Communication

They make changes and don't tell anyone.

Teamwork

They say " Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork!" But no one helps anyone because they're too busy themselves.

Work-Life Balance

Hard to schedule appointments because they are always changing your schedule.

Support from management

Only gave 2 Stars because of 1 manager.

Freedom to work independently

You always work independently, but they put you down if you don't have it all done by a certain time.

Inclusive / Diverse

We are expected to do a wide variety of things.

Gender Equality

Pretty good at this.

Attitude towards older colleagues

In my department, the older people have to do the hard work, as well as pick up the slack of the lazy employees, because they know we will do it.

Office / Work Environment

Don't get equipment fixed. Don't care if you have to work 3 times as hard

Environmental Friendliness

Most everyone is friendly.

Handicapped Accessibility

Follow all guidelines.

Workplace Safety

Have good policies and procedures in place.

Overall compensation for your work

Raised starting wage, but didn't raise everyone else accordingly. There are new hires making more money than employees with time in service.

Job Security

They don't like to do hiring.

Company Image

Everyone knows Walmart.

Career Development

I have 20+ years of management experience. But I am over 50. They give supervisor and management Jobs to the young people.

Challenging Work

Expect alot of work for 1 individual. They even tell you that you are expected to do the work of 2 people.

What I like

Three-day work week, paid workout, able to wear whatever I want, water constantly available, huge safety measures. Good pay for those looking to enter the workforce but not the greatest pay.

What I dislike

They have to order better pallet jacks at this location. Communication is horrific and the lift drivers are in a constant struggle with the orderfillers trying to hit production. They've started using action item boards which I found more of a joke than anything else.

Suggestions for improvement

Well, for one, make sure every order filler has the proper pallet jack. Using pallet jacks for cold side when you're on dry side will crush your percentage.

Company Culture

Overrated, but not bad.

Internal Communication

I loved how they gave us the numbers and volume early, but after that it was a crapshoot.

Teamwork

The best pullers definitely helped get the job done, but they would slack on some days, hurting the newer employees in progression.

Work-Life Balance

You can't complain about having four days off a week, and this doesn't count paid time off, vacation time, etc. Tell me another job you can make a decent income by working twelve times a month.

Support from management

Could've been better, but it could've been far worse.

Freedom to work independently

Another reason why I was attracted to the job.

Inclusive / Diverse

I live in a predominantly white area, but you saw a good mixture.

Gender Equality

As far as I know, I zero gender discrimination.

Attitude towards older colleagues

They follow the old, but real axiom - RESPECT!

Office / Work Environment

Something that totally annoyed me was that they expected us to clean after the shift, which wouldn't have been bad if some days didn't last twelve hours. Not just that, they continually raised cleaning expecations. They're hiring far too many orderfillers here and they need a janitorial staff to do this job.

Environmental Friendliness

Nothing insane was getting released into the atmosphere here.

Handicapped Accessibility

Can't really comment on this one.

Workplace Safety

Wal Mart is insane about safety. If you can't work safe you can't work there. They tell you this on Day One during onboarding.

Overall compensation for your work

Don't get me wrong, the job paid well, but the physicality, plus aches and pains that go along with the job - it's a twelve-hour paid workout - still doesn't pay enough. Pay starts at roughly $20/hour at this location. Should be at least $24 due to the nature of the work - especially for those poor souls on cold side.

Job Security

You'll get caught and written up for doing something wrong without even knowing you did something wrong. Have one bad week orderfilling or if you get assigned trips constantly that expose your weaknesses and fail to hit 100% production, good luck. And those accountabilities add up fast. Accountabilities also change week to week, so be warned at this location.

Company Image

After spending a few months here while getting back into my real field of work, I'd still support the company. I think the media far distorts the horrors associated with working at Wal Mart. It's not a place I'd want to stay, but it's far better than what I've worked at in the past.

Career Development

I honestly don't know why people are putting one stars down. They'll help you pay for school and continue your education in the supply chain field and some prestigious universities. Everyone I've seen promoted were done so in house. Perhaps it's just this location.

Challenging Work

The only way to hit 100% production is to break every safety violation in the book. You will need to coast your pallet jack, run and jog while hoping AP has their back turned, and even climb shelves to grab items because the company constantly loses pull hooks.

What I like

Sam Walton culture

What I dislike

Everything else

Suggestions for improvement

Take care of the tenured employees

Company Culture

They don’t care about Sam Walton’s culture anymore.

Internal Communication

Very poor communication within the store, districts, region, and division.

Teamwork

They want immediate results. Don’t allow time for teaching and fortering teamwork.

Work-Life Balance

Expects the Mgmt team to work 16-18 hours a day. 6-7 days a week. Even though the schedule does not reflect that.

Support from management

Out for themselves. Back stab at every opportunity.

Freedom to work independently

Must follow all company processes. There is no freedom to work independently.

Inclusive / Diverse

Have become over the top Liberal.

Gender Equality

They are all about promoting minorities even when they are not qualified. This way they make the numbers look good.

Attitude towards older colleagues

They are pushing out all tenured hourly and salaried employees. That way they can push over the newer associates and pay them a lot less.

Office / Work Environment

There is no tine to get office work completed. You have to take it home every day.

Environmental Friendliness

They take so many short cuts that it affects our environment

Handicapped Accessibility

They say they are. However items are broken, inaccessible, not enough for handicap people

Workplace Safety

They say they are. But then turn their back when safety isn’t followed. Ex store 5743 tle safety glasses in the Bay Area.

Overall compensation for your work

They do not care

Job Security

There is no job security there anymore.

Company Image

Trashy

Career Development

Offer free college, but work you so much you don’t have time to take anything. It’s terrible.

What I like

Make people happy went they have what they paid for it

What I dislike

No organizations no communication no compensation for production

Suggestions for improvement

They need better system. Better management and be smart hiring people. I lose my opportunity to work full-time because they pick the friendly and fun person and I’m a work person because I’m a mother and wife. I don’t work for make friends or relationships I work for do my job and get paid.

Company Culture

They just make party’s on break time with food or snack for the culture of the company. And the break time it’s just 20 minutes and they only do it for holidays

Internal Communication

You never know anything. No feedback no help no training.

Teamwork

This job don’t work like a team. They work for them self forgetting that the company it’s about make the people order on time. If they work like a team they can make a better company.

Work-Life Balance

Seasonal job work 6 day a week for 11 hours a day. There’s no life in this job. And the pay isn’t enough for the time that I sacrificed with my family in holidays

Support from management

There is no support or any communication with management

Freedom to work independently

They let u work by your self but they always call you for they need and broke you production because you need to do what they want

Inclusive / Diverse

No you get stock for 11 hours doing the same thing

Gender Equality

They don’t care about that. That’s good

Attitude towards older colleagues

They give the opportunity to start but they never hired like a regular full-time employers

Office / Work Environment

It’s a warehouse with no air, and fan just for areas. No water bottle offer in work areas you need to bring your own and you can refilling. The technology it’s very slow. They ask for production when the system it’s lagging and slow take 8second to respond every time that you scan something.

Environmental Friendliness

They have recycling cans.

Handicapped Accessibility

I don’t know I never saw any disabled people

Workplace Safety

They hire people with rules but they can’t keep the rules. No hoodies no long nail no hair free and closed shoes but people do whatever they want. There’s people that work with no shoes and they don’t do anything

Overall compensation for your work

They said the they give $800 for bonus to seasonal work and they just give $250!

Job Security

There is police officers for season job. They treat you like a fugitive.

Company Image

It’s a big company that need better management

Career Development

No. You only grow in company like this one just if you have relationship with management or get close to them.

Challenging Work

It’s exited work knowing that you make a order on time for make some person happy. More in this time for Christmas presents
