Raised starting wage, but didn't raise everyone else accordingly. There are new hires making more money than employees with time in service.

Don't get me wrong, the job paid well, but the physicality, plus aches and pains that go along with the job - it's a twelve-hour paid workout - still doesn't pay enough. Pay starts at roughly $20/hour at this location. Should be at least $24 due to the nature of the work - especially for those poor souls on cold side.
