What employees say

Employees like

I am amazed at the company's involvement in the community and state of West Virginia. They are committed to providing excellent healthcare to all who visit. They are constantly growing to continue to provide excellent healthcare across the state.
I worked night shift so the atmosphere was more laid back and not so crazy. I loved my coworkers and we worked well as a team
They hav watch a high standards of care along with great morals and values in the workplace
Gives back to the community. My company is active in charity drives. They have a farmers market that employees can attend. I received free skin cancer screening. They have the Rosenbaum House which is similar to Ronald McDonald House that houses and feeds families of patients with terminal illnesses. The are very innovative in medicine,
WVUH is a great place to work for and provides you the opportunity to grow with tuition assistance.

Employees don't like

Raises are given to everyone on a percentage basis and not on an individuals performance. Parking is a problem for many of the employees. In severe weather you are expected to work. Those that have paid time off can use it with no penalty but those that risk their lives to make it to work do not get recognized enough. Many of the employees that make it to work in extreme weather conditions usually work overtime since others cannot make ...
Feel we are getting too big. Don't like that we can't park onsite. Insurance cost too much
Some upper management is micromanaging. Expensive parking.
Health plan options changed this year making it more affordable for some and less affordable for others. While I am not happy about the effect it had on my benefits personally, it was a necessary change and I can appreciate the effort to assist all employees.
The hiring process is the major downfall of the organization in my opinion. The process is too long and difficult to apply for a position.

Suggestions for improvement

With every company, you have bad apples. Our company strives to identify the bad apples prior to hiring, looking for the “best fit” employees initially. Unfortunately, some bad apples can look fresh and shiny until after their bit into, making it harder for the company to rid themselves of the bad apples.
Since there are so many remote employees within my department alone in a lot of different states, it would be nice to have a virtual meet and greet to see the person during staff meetings
Higher pay
Hire more employees because every department was understaffed
I would love equal pay I would love to see women get the same work as men do.
Better parking, less expensive health benefits
