Westport has some great employees which makes it easier to work. However, the managers and administrative staff can make it hard. Very rarely do we get complimented on all of our handwork. It can be a very negative environment. A lot of 'blame game' with no solutions.
Freedom to work independently
The workload is very heavy for all nursing staff. On most units there is a 25ish patient to LPN/RN ratio. On 11-7 shift there is ONE nurse per unit. Each unit is an avg of 50 patients. CNA's will on average have 12 patients each but on 11-7 they may have double that if only working with two CNA's.
