The company really did not have a set culture.
Support from management
Leadership changed monthly turn-over was not this company's strongest suit.
Teamwork on the otherhand while I work there was strong amongst the technicians especially on the line. I loved working there due to my co-workers.
Freedom to work independently
Workload changed from day to day due to it being a pharmacy...we did not have much say in the structure of our areas.
Communication lacked in this company that was the reason most of the really good workers left etc...
Not sure about this area...I believe the company was somewhat fair in this area.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older colleagues seemed to be hidden and put in desk jobs...a few hired but then not given any opportunities to grow. It seemed to I the younger ones were promoted even if they just were hired. I do not remember much seniorty opportunities to the long standing and loyal employees.
Not much...for the most part. Though I have to say they would let you believe you were going to be moving up, to keep you but then it did not happen...especially if you were really good at what you did.
Overall compensation for your work
Benifits and pay salary was great when I first started there...though the health benifit changed every year, to a lesser plan. The pay scale seemed to be higher for technicians. Salaries were paid on-time. I am not sure about the pay and matching of the responsibities I never discuss pay salary.
Office / Work Environment
There were alot of updates, changed computer programs the system was always a ongoing work in progress...the ventilation system in the Narc room was update and so was the IV compounding area...the lighting was not good but it was not bad either. Noise was agreeable. The company did do alot updates through my years there again it was a year old when I was hired and I do believe it was an ongoing task to keep up the areas...within budget.
For I it was a good balance the company did make allowance for I to change my schedule and take vacation in fairness to my loyality and my work ethic I worked there a long time.
The Pharmacy was only a year old when I started there...
Unforunately, no...very few left on a happy
I felt job security sometimes and mostly prior to some health issue due to age. I think most that worked there never felt security within any position simply due to too many upper management heads changing or non-communitive skills within the head of departments.
It is one level building and no need for ramps or elevators. I do not believe anyone was disabled or worked as a disable employee not really sure on this point.
I never recieved an OSHA training session.
The work I found non challenging after a year or so...due to if you were really good at what you did you were not given opportunity to move up...
Suggestions for improvement
- Try to have less turn-over...
- When I started there I was a Temp from PS I loved it that is why I took a full time position as a Pharmacy Technician soon after I was hired the Pharmacy was bought out from the owner I built a good relationship with him...once he was gone the silent partner was the soul owner. It was tough and challenging with all the changing of heads monthly and weekly from the time I started in 2009 til 2014. I enjoyed working with my co-workers and the work was rewarding. At the end of it was more about the travel and the changing of upper management that was challenging to work with due to they would implement and reimplement the same things over and over...I miss my co-workers more than the company. WestRiveRx is what it is called now when I first worked there it was West River Pharm and changed to WestRiver Pharmacy to now WestriveRx. Though all and all it was the longest I stayed at a company and I still had hope for it to rise to the challengings the company experienced. I really did love my work uptil I was put in a desk position.
What I like about the company
I can not really say much about my employer due to it changed a few times but what I can say I was there for a long time and would have retired there if given the option. That I grew up with the company, being a employee that started there in there 1st year of opperations. I will say I liked that they recongized each employee's birthday with a card and giftcard. I liked that the company had some very caring employees in the very beginning. I will say the Christmas parties were some the best times said alot of employees I just was able to go to two ...I was schedule to work during these events.
What I dislike about the company
The longer you worked their the less you were seen and the higher you worked the less you were praised...
The following benefits were offered to me
- Are you a Current or Former Employee?Former job since 2009
