Same as Leadership comment. There is no leadership. The managers talked about employees to other employees, no discretion on issues and no trust or anyone to turn to.
Support from management
Manager used foul language, threw fits and called employees names. Manager did not want to improve the overall business direction or own behaviors. There is no discussion, only condescending remarks and walking away.
There was no team. Management created and supported animosity within the groups.
Freedom to work independently
High stress due to lack of processes in place. You tend to take 2 steps back to get 1 step forward in your daily routine.
If any communication was given it was late, minimal and unorganized. Normally information wasn't consistently shared.
I am female and I was told several times by my manager that he should never hire women. We get too stressed and emotional.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They have cake and ice cream when you retire.
If you are wanting to move ahead, good luck. It's a rare option.
Overall compensation for your work
Salary is good for what you do but is terrible considering the hostility and poor management that you have to deal with.
Office / Work Environment
Computers were up to date but the system used was extremely old and caused a lot of extra work. Building was falling apart. Heat went out in the winter and we were still expected to work.
Employees were expected to work until all work was done even if work came up at the end of the day. If you had to go home late or miss a family event then that was the expectation. If you left to go home on time, you were openly treated with disrespect by other employees and manager.
Some employees are ok being treated poorly and just want the paycheck so you will hear them accept the job as "ok". Most will openly complain to each other.
They hope they can find people willing to stay with the poor conditions and behaviors of management so yes you can have a stable job but is it worth it?
There is 1 handicap spot for parking but no accessibility to the upstairs for the disabled. They have to stay on the main floor even though one of the main meeting rooms is upstairs.
I do not know. We do not have ongoing communication of safety expectations except for drivers. If you work on site, there is no safety program to my knowledge. A woman tripped on the rug that covers the cords in the walkway. She fell and cut open her knees. Nothing was done except asking her if she was ok.
There wasn't feeling of accomplishments acknowledge and being devalued daily made it difficult to feel proud of anything.
Inclusive / Diverse
If you wanted to aid in improvements, you are accused of wanting to take over the company and dismissed.
Suggestions for improvement
- I gave a power point on building the foundation of the company to help get them on track and I was told money is what makes the company, not textbook lingo.
What I like about the company
I wish I had an answer. Leaving was the best part of being there.
What I dislike about the company
Aggressive hostile environment, lack of teamwork, harassment, gender inequality, lack of processes, lack of positive changes and so much more.
