Company Culture

Extremely dull. Mostly seasoned folks so no weekend hangout, social events or sense of American professional sports culture. The office is quiet as a library, literally.

Support from management

There is hardly any communication with the leadership. Seniors and managers act as a liaison and not all but mine did not hold the most respectful opinion of the leadership.

Teamwork

Couple of team members were extremely helpful but they were not my immediate teammates unfortunately.

Freedom to work independently

No autonomy. No proper standardized training. Hence, negative form of micro management.

Internal Communication

Every manager has different style and method.

Attitude towards older colleagues

I

Office / Work Environment

Technology and cubicles were decent. Office is clean.

Environmental Friendliness

No social awareness

Work-Life Balance

Yes, the work life balance is excellent.

Challenging Work

Family law is a brutal field. I do not see a value in seeing a husband and wife be separated. The worst is when in an instance the staff was happy that the husband and wife decided to reconcile their differences, the manager was not so happy as business or money just walked out the door.

State of California should impose a special tax in family law as the matter of fact. This industry is as bad as tobacco companies. The more divorces, the more balance of society we as citizens are losing, and the worse quality of life is becoming. Moreover, that special state tax should go to all the marriage counseling centers all over the state to promote faith and unity.

The work is "Morally" challenging, not numbers wise. A high school graduate can follow laws and instructions to create numerical reports.

Inclusive / Diverse

Highly controlled; frightful.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Waste of time to recommend improvement as it did not happen when I was there communicating

What I like about the company

I liked the main head of the firm. He's a good family man and well disciplined.

Work life balance - 8:30 to 5:30 pm

What I dislike about the company

Culture -
1. Even the seniors training entry level staff were working reluctantly to pay the billS.

2. Gossiping - Behind the back negative talks anout managers and then a sweet face when in front of them. It's bewildering.

3. Industry - Family law is a brutal field.

In fact, there should be a marriage counseling center next to all family law divorce firms and forensic accounting firms.

4. Ban Equity or Non-Equity Partners with Divorce Background - The firm should not promote employees to partner level who have a divorce background because that promotes a higher need to see more divorces (Simple human nature) or have ill behavior towards opposite gender colleagues, subordinates or friends (Vicious cycle of having divorce background)
