Field Service Engineer
The good employees would get more work and less days off.
Support from management
Poor management of manpower. High turn over of area managers. Avoided firing inefficient field service engineers.
co workers were not reliable to provide expected good work ethics.
Freedom to work independently
The dispatch department would regularly place a heavy work load on good employees, instead of distributing evenly among all employees.
Quarterly meeting were often schedule when most of the service technicians were often busy with work.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most senior techs would often leave after ten years of service.
There was no movement up unless one accepted to relocate.
Overall compensation for your work
Salary is fair but it could have been better. Top bonuses would be next to impossible to acquire.
Office / Work Environment
Very poor working hours. Vacation cannot be taken at any time.
I have yet to hear someone who worked as a field service engineer to speak kindly of Wincor-Nixdorf.
Towards the fiscal year of 2014, many techs became nervous about job security.
We were exposed to potential danger daily due to non existant security escorts.
We were provided refurbished parts to repair ATMs which caused more problems down the road.
Inclusive / Diverse
They listened to suggestions but rarely put into effect.
Suggestions for improvement
- None. The company disbanded the U.S. division.
What I like about the company
They had a good 401k program.
What I dislike about the company
Bad managemnt, poor coworkers, long working hours, inconsistant supply of good spare parts, very inflexible work schedule.
