The company is growing and experiencing some growing pains. People can micro manage. Politics is our of control sometimes.

Company Culture

In words only. Most regional managers never come to the office but once a year and the CFO we only see once a year if that.

Support from management

supervisors are totally disconnected from staff

None exist

Freedom to work independently

If you kiss up to the right person you get acknowledged, otherwise you are left to fend for yourself.

Internal Communication

None existent (partners) can't even communicate with each other - how is staff gonna !!

Gender Equality

Not true is some offices. Only when Wipfli decides you can change jobs does that happen. Even transferring internally does not happen. Also note that with more years experience an internal employee should be given the first chance at re-locating. doesn't happen at this company.

Attitude towards older colleagues

That is a joke.. Most of the time the younger colleges believe they know more. Most of the younger employees don't know what "Ethics" are or how to exhibit them on a daily basis.

Career Development

None existent for the Admin section of the company. Supposedly Wipfli has started a new "Career Path" program, but it has not gotten to the Admin personal of their company. Their is no real "Career Path" for an internal admin person.. Really makes this department (since we do all the grunt work) feel like the company cares !! NOT

Overall compensation for your work

I would have to say that this probably the only category Wipfli will rate good at.

Office / Work Environment

It's called "pass the buck". Some employees can kiss up to senior staff and get out of work.

Environmental Friendliness

Partners oblivious to what is happening in the office and choose to stay that way.

Work-Life Balance

Suck it up.. cause when It comes to tax time.. Most of us work our asses off with "Thanks" ever acknowledged. Only the slackers get acknowledge for "doing their Job" (Wipfli way cards) - a Joke !!

Company Image

NO, they don't talk good about this company & NO the image is not reflective of reality by any means.. Go on other employment sites and read some of the scathing comments from former employees. Most people after they have left count their blessings they no longer work for this company.

Yes, there is always a risk. Job stability?? Not for this company.

Training ?? are you kidding?? this company gives you a new job and tells you to "figure it out".. No training is ever given.. You are mistaken to think that this company is a "Caring" company !!

Challenging Work

Employer gives you more work when the slackers can't do their own.

Inclusive / Diverse

none in some offices. Only when you know who to "suck up" to are you given a chance in the "inclusive" portion of the work.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Too numerous to mention, but some suggestions written in the above paragraph. OH, and quit hiring family members in the same office.. Look at the Rockford office as a prime example and understand that a partners (brought in from an acquired company) caused a managers divorce and she, her sister and the sister's daughter all work in one office.. The daughter was brought in a supervisory role (which shut out a lot of other qualified people with way more experience and time). do you not think that everyone talks and knows about this?? Evidently, you don't !!

What would it take for this company to make their Managers, Senior Manager, Partners, Regional Managers, accountable to their employees, for their lack of LEADERSHIP in this company ?? All these divisions I have named can skate by on NO accountability for their LACK of LEADERSHIP. they (Partners, CFO, COO) are responsible to the employees to "mentor, grow and foster" their employees, Not let them fall by the wayside. Rick Dreher - you are the head of this company. Yet, the everyday employee never see's you but once a year.. Yeah, thanks for the "rah rah" letters on Thursday's e-mails (didn't make me feel connected - nor that you even knew who I was - maybe a number to you) You are too caught up in your own agenda of "Acquisitions". We all knew when you were going to acquire another company, because our benefits started shrinking. Most of us who have "ethics" worked (I mean we were punctual, we came in early and stayed late and didn't need to be "social butterflies (20 min stops @ others desk) However, those with NO ethics, got promoted and got to shove work on to others because they (the slackers) couldn't manage to be organized and have time management skills. If you ever read the LinkedIn site you will find articles on "why good employees leave". Please read this and take to heart everything state in the article is true of Wipfli !!
