Executives at Wisteria gave constant, ongoing lip service to the importance of things like company culture but never seemed to understand what that entails.
Support from Management
The "leadership team" at Wisteria was generally powerless and lacking in influence when I was on it–though it was set up ostensibly to advise the executives, it in fact had little influence in their decisions. As a family-owned business, the truly important decisions were made outside the company offices. This had a negative impact on "leadership support" because managers and vice presidents were rarely successful in representing the needs of their departments, and so their teams received little support and were often discouraged and unmotivated.
