Search for their web site, read the company values and know that they follow those values.
Support from management
For the most part if you need help from the company, they will help you as best they can.
Best part of my job has been my coworkers. We constantly exchange ideas and work as a team, while having fun.
Freedom to work independently
I worked multiple projects alone where I was only give the project requirements and once every week I reported my progress.
For the most part employees know what the bosses are doing as a next step for the company to grow and the new innovative projects.
I can't really respond to this but I'm assuming they are.
Attitude towards older colleagues
We have some seniors with specific knowledges of frameworks and get to use that knowledge while learning about new frameworks and technologies.
Recently they created a new structure for career development. Now you can have an idea where you are at in the company and what you need to do to get where you want to be.
Overall compensation for your work
Not really but this is a small company that resides in Puerto Rico. You won't get paid the same as in the United States, much less the same as working for Apple/Google. Also not all the extra hours get paid. The ones that are paid is the because the company reaches an agreement with the client about payment of the extra hours, when necessary.
Office / Work Environment
The work environment is good. You can relax and have some fun but just make sure you do your job. Also all employees get a monitor and a laptop for work, or you can bring your own. Theres coffee and A/C.
The company recycles.
I've spent a lot of extra hours(none paid) working to compensate for being the member with the most experience or because the client doesn't know how to manage their projects.
Very proud. One of the best companies to work for in Puerto Rico. Awesome people, team and company.
As long as you show interest in your job, push yourself when a challenge arrives, enjoy learning new things and do your job while having fun, you will keep your job.
The bathroom might be a bit small but the building has an elevator.
The workplace is safe, easy to walk around and they have a fire extinguisher.
Very challenging, constantly trying new things and pushing the envelope. From Java Web with different frameworks to Chat Bots and AI. I'm proud of most of my work, as I've learned a lot from my coworkers in just 5 years.
Inclusive / Diverse
I worked around people that exchange ideas. No idea is too stupid or unacceptable. We discuss ideas and decide whats the best option. That also includes the bosses when they do the company quarterly meetings.
Suggestions for improvement
- Some changes to the steps that you need to take when you take sick days and remote work. Also better listen to your employees career interests. A random example: You might want to develop Microsoft web applications but they put you in iPhone application development for 2 years.
What I like about the company
I love their values and culture. The transparency with employees. The awesome team members and coworkers.
What I dislike about the company
That you might never work with the framework/technologies that you really want.
