What I like

I liked the clients and coworkers

What I dislike

Everything seems to be fake. What they show the world and what is behind closed doors are two different things. I've watched the company shift in just a few years. Once they get so big, the motive isn't patient care but it's money.

Suggestions for improvement

As someone who was a patient and employee at the same time, act as though you actually care about people. Do something for people instead of putting on a front to the public.

Company Culture

A lot of people seem to be there for the right reason but the negative minority drag it down.

Company Image

Read the other reviews. The company seems to goes more downhill the more they expand. I think I was proud to work for the company once upon a time. Now I'm actually a bit ashamed that I stayed so long.

Work-Life Balance

Mandatory overtime because they can't keep people. You have no life if they say you don't.

Career Development

Within the department for couriers and LSR's, None. You may be able to find a spot in the hospital, as long as you're not blocked by management from moving.

Handicapped Accessibility

Handicap doors on the front of the building don't always work. No handicap entrance to enter office.

Overall compensation for your work

You can hit $20k with mandatory overtime. Told we can't talk about wages, for obvious reasons. Considering what UPS makes, this job isn't worth it. Definitely not worth breaking your body for.

Inclusive / Diverse

They will hire just about anyone because they need people. Anyone is welcome to suffer

Environmental Friendliness

Mostly good people, just stuck in a bad situation

Workplace Safety

I ended up with a workplace illness and got the run around from the doctors and management. Doctor sent me for multi MRI's and physical therapy but I was never treated. Management didn't like the appointments and didn't adjust my job when given suggestions to lighten my load a bit and avoid the problem in the first place.

Can't get or unum or workers comp to kick in when the doctors and management are afraid of a financial hit.

Teamwork

Depends on who you're working with. Half will work with you and make sure everything flows smoothly. The other half doesn't care if their actions makes other people's job harder.

Support from management

Though injured, I was hassled over taking doctors appointments. I was told they have a business to run and given infractions despite it not interfering with my job. That sums it up

Office / Work Environment

Day shift has to walk on eggshells due to management. Afternoon is more relaxed. Both are overworked though.

Challenging Work

Work harder, not smarter. They make it challenging when it shouldn't be. It may be universal but management has no clue what the front line people do and they only make the job tougher by making up rules so they can prance around in front of the higher up as though they are making "changes".

Job Security

Told that they can't guarantee a route but they'll guarantee you have a job. You could get shifted around but they can't afford to let people go.

Internal Communication

It's a known issue and brought up in meetings but no real attempt to fix

Freedom to work independently

You do, to a point. At least until management wants to make up random rules so they look like they're doing something.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Gender Equality

the workplace was mostly friendly, somewhat ran smoothly and everyone always came together to put our patients first.

What I dislike

I disapprove of gossiping and not staying focused on the job and the patients. If one does

Suggestions for improvement

the amount of of office supplies and medical supplies.

What I like

I have made some good friends, and I help people.

What I dislike

We need new management, that cares about its employees.

Suggestions for improvement

We need new managers who care about their employees as much as their patients.

Company Culture

In my particular department, team work is very much like high school cliques. If you're not "in," you don't get much help.

What I like

During COVID-19 we have received daily updates and thanks from the CEO of the health system and have been asked to provide feedback to help better communicate news with us. Our hospital CEO meets with employees and asks our opinion on how the hospital is doing and where improvements can be made. I really feel like they care about their employees

What I dislike

Some departments need a closer eye on them to prevent favoritism/nepotism

Suggestions for improvement

In some departments, the environment needs improvement. I would suggest supervisorsconducting leadership rounding without the department manager to get a better feel for the dynamics within teams.

I don't have direct patient contact, but I'm an important part of patient care. I like helping from "behind the scenes."

What I like

I have made some close friends working for my company. I also like that I can help patients without having to actually interact with patients.

What I dislike

I think our entire administration/management needs replaced.

Suggestions for improvement

I would replace administration/management with people who care about their patients AND their employees.

What I like

I am a single mom. I have 5 year old and 14 year old girls. My job works with me on my schedule trying to accommodate my work hours. I have a very flexible schedule. We have a lot of work events, where we get good treats. We get health insurance every dental and vision insurances as well. We also get annual free physical. WVUH also matches our 401k up to 4.5%.

What I dislike

One thing I do not like about this place is if you are not a bud kisser, chances of you moving up in this career is very little, almost to zero. Here they don’t really look at how long one worked (seniority) and how much one knows over the other. If you weren’t kissing the right ends you ain’t getting anywhere too far.

Suggestions for improvement

I would hire managements form outside of this place so managers are not biased. I would also make sure people are not sleeping on the clock and not wondering off for over an hour but do the job so we don’t end up hiring more (and lazy ) people.

Work-Life Balance

Allows for flexible schedule

Career Development

Only if you are a bud kisser
