Suggestions for improvement

  • Get rid of the Board of Directors, all of them, and replace them with an market and action oriented Board. Replace the CEO and the next 3 layers of management below her; same people with same tired ideas and programs for over 10 years. Flatten the organization. Put much more focus on operational excellence as defined by our customers; the revenue and profit will come. Xerox can't save its way to profitability; it has to dramatically change to compete effectively.

I like about the employer

Still in business; paychecks don't bounce.

Suggestions for improvement

  • A complete clean sweep of the top five layers of management, including the CEO and the Board of Directors. Bring in new, fresh talent and ideas from across the technology and services industry. Dramatically flatten the organization and give employees and management real decision-making authority/empowerment. If they misuse it, fire them and replace them with people who can be trusted to use good judgement. Stop all the incremental thinking on product and service development; focus on quantum-leap thinking; redefine, disrupt and reshape the markets we compete in. Fix or close any part of our business that can't compete on price, service and quality with the best of the competition; all day every day. Discard the sales-led culture and the people who grew up in it. Replace it with leaders and teams that are wickedly focused on doing what it takes to keep customers for life without performing heroics to do it. Automate, simplify, accelerate every business process; nothing manual should remain. Become a true global company instead of the fractured multinational company we are. Every prospective and current customer should get the same experience from Xerox regardless of their geographic location on the planet; no exceptions, no excuses. Sure it's hard but, that's what we get paid for; that's why we are in business. Stop trying to keep up with our competition; beat them at their own game and redefine the market in such a way that our competitors can't easily replicate what we do.

I like about the employer

Not much. The corporation is about as dysfunctional as they come. In a recent employ survey, over half of the employees said they would leave for another employer if offered a similar job at similar pay/benefits...draw your own conclusions.
