Lack of support for older employees
Mandatory employee forums used to be the norm to keep employees informed. They stopped doing this about 1.5 years ago.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older employees not valued or respected in all departments.
Offering continuing education for obtaining certifications would be a bonus
Office / Work Environment
Props for having computers available in every room but not enough desktop computers (all computer charting). Need more desktops so you can sit down occasionally to chart.
No guarantees of getting requested time off.
No issues with OSHA, mandatory yearly education. Issues with on site security guards not having equipment needed to keep employees and patients safe.
Suggestions for improvement
- Offer financial assistance for nurses to study for/train for certification in their specialty. Link to a network of hospitals to secure financial stability.
