Company Culture

After 6 years, they have yet to develop one.

Support from management

Senior leadership was oblivious what was going on at the local levels. Or, just didn't care.

Teamwork

Zero.

Overall compensation for your work

If you were a good employee and advised them you had another opportunity somewhere else they would typically overpay to retain you. This typically didn't work well.

Work-Life Balance

Mid to upper management work 7 days per week. I regularly worked while on vacation.

Company Image

Joke of the industry.

Job Security

It's a miracle they've survived this long.

Workplace Safety

Worst equipment in the industry. It's documented in their CSA scores.

Challenging Work

Sure. Trying to motivate the unmotivated is a challenge. And trying to retain the few strong performers left was always difficult. Particularly when you knew they were better off leaving.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Unfortunately, I think it's far to late.

What I like about the company

In hindsight, nothing. I took a substantial pay cut when I left. 2 years later, I'm making more then I ever did at YRC.

What I dislike about the company

The negativity.
