Not family oriented
I think YRC has some great ideas but the HR department needs to keep an eye on the way emlpoyees are treated at this terminal.
Support from management
Respect was non-existent. Management had little problem solving success.
Teamwork was difficult because the union was always trying to work less and we tried to make them work more. Always tension around the terminal.
Communication was poor because there was more screaming during a crisis than there was problem solving.
They will hire anyone and everyone it treated equally poor.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits are good but if you compare your salary to the amount of hours you work you find it's only a little more than a general laborer would make.
Office / Work Environment
If you wanr a family or a life outside work you do not want to work at this terminal. Hours are terrible and you have to work a minimum 50 hours per week....most days with no lunch.
I think the corporate office has good ideas but they are not followed locally.
As mentioned before, if you want a life then you don't want to work here.
There are some times that you feel good about what you have accomplished but there is little to no recognition at the local level.
Inclusive / Diverse
Screaming and threats are parts of the local culture.....ideas are not well received.
Suggestions for improvement
- Human resources should observe how the employees are treated and understand most people have meaningful lives outside work.
What I like about the company
The benefits were better tgan average.
What I dislike about the company
Corporate has little control in regards to treating employees with respect.
You are expected to work a minimum of fifty hours oer week and you will find they pressure you to work on your days off.
The following benefits were offered to me
- CompanyYrc Inc.
- Are you a Current or Former Employee?Former job since 2007
