Suggestions for improvement
- Pretty much everything I mentioned in the previous answer. Spend money to save money on the important things that will make our lives easier. Pay people what they're worth, promote from within (as you say you do), and don't lie to your employees.
What I like about the company
My co-workers are the best thing about my job. They are one of the biggest reasons I am still there.
What I dislike about the company
In an effort to save money, many times more money is wasted (ex: not getting temperature monitoring leads to major waste when a fridge goes down). With increasing occurrence, many employees are being moved to different parts of the company without the true extent of the move being explained first, and those who DO want to move are often left where they are due to managers not wanting to "lose" someone and have to train someone new. Raises are often so low it is insulting, but at the same time, temps have been brought in that made more money than I did. It is hard for people to put in effort at a job that doesn't act like it wants to keep them. Many people are leaving our location.
