20 Years at Roche, it has been good but unfortunately it is getting now terrible with constant reorganisations.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
the employement conditions are good
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Freedom of speech no longer exists and HR & Compliance are just a joke to defend the very fews who speak up to defend the company. Many unfortunate stories are circulating internally.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
I wonder even how the company can make money as there is no time between two reorganisations to do actual work. Also no one can take any risk in such environment to really innovate, just try to please the boss to survive. One reorganisation every 5 years should be enough, not every 1.5 years.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Between two reorganisations, may be there will be one or two weeks of good time
Kommunikation
it is more propaganda than anything else
Kollegenzusammenhalt
depending on the department, employees will help each other or compete to survive the next reorganisation
Work-Life-Balance
it has been good until the company started to talk about work-life balance
Vorgesetztenverhalten
depending on the department, employees will help each other or compete to survive the next reorganisation
Interessante Aufgaben
typical large company: a lot of politics, marketing, green washing, endless meetings and at the end of the day you wonder in wish way you have been helpful
Gleichberechtigung
in my time at Roche I had more often women as managers than men
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
in my 20 years, I can't recall a single pension party at the normal age of 65. Through the recurent reorganisations, older colleagues are silently pushed out (sometime with a nice package to be fair but not all have been that lucky).
Arbeitsbedingungen
probably the reason I stayed so long
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
just high intensity green washing
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
no problem . benefit of working for a large company
Image
the image outside is still good and very far away from the todays internal image which has terribly decreased the last 5-10 years.
I was wondering how Roche could get such a high kununu rating considering the situation in most departments. I found out how and I invite you to check by yourself: If you filter all the 4-5 stars rating in january 2023 you will notice that they are all coming from students. Did Roche had a special training program in january to rate positively Roche on Kununu and probably other platforms? Pathetic and main reason I publish my own review: to restore some truth and provide a more balanced point of view.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
the linear carrier progressions at Roche are becoming very rare. If you are ambitious, probably best to expertiment other companies to come back at Roche at a higher position. Not per se bad.
