Das neue Management Team hat Ende 2019 erstmal alles auf den Kopf gestellt. Verständlich, dass dies zunächst zu viel Unsicherheit und Unmut geführt hat. Die neuen Strukturen, Werte und eine veränderte Kultur beginnen nun in Q2 2020 Früchte zu tragen: Die Atmosphäre wird positiver und ein vertrauensvollerer Umgang wird gepflegt. Gleichzeitig sind die neuen Rahmenbedingungen noch nicht passend für jeden Kollegen und es besteht noch Optimierungspotential. In meinem Team sehe ich viele Kollegen die sich nun freier Entfalten und Teil des Erfolgs sein wollen.

Collegiality
Die selbst-organisierten und agilen Teams befinden sich teilweise noch in der Findungsphase. Es bestehen keine Hierarchien mehr. Das bedeutet, dass sowohl Kommunikation, Einsatzgebiet, Rollen etc. wie auch der Bonus auf Basis des Unternehmensgewinns individuell in den Teams diskutiert werden muss. Das führt zu Reibung innerhalb der Teams und auch gleichzeitig zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserungen z.b. für die nächsten Bonusverteilungen.

Im Rahmen der typischen Management Vorgaben zb. Profitabilität von Beratungsprojekten gibt es freies Entfaltungspotential für jeden einzelnen Mitarbeiter.

Ok für den Moment. Bestimmt wird es ein mittelfristiges Ziel sein, zentralere und modernere Büroräume zu finden.

Wird besser: Neben der etwas verbesserten Managementkommunikation (Unternehmenskennzahlen, Veränderungen, etc.) gibt es eine Teamkommunikation (Teamziele, Rollen, Aufgaben, Ergebnisse etc.), die im Team selbst organisiert werden muss.

Einzig der Frauenanteil im Management Team könnte grösser sein

Zum ersten Mal habe ich bei ARCONDIS einen wirklichen Sinn meiner Arbeit; Am Ende verbessern wir mit unseren Kunden die Lebensqualität aller Patienten. Die Projekte sind stark abhängig vom Kunden. Bisher war es stets vielseitig, spannend, herausfordernd und bereichernd und ich freue mich auf alles was noch kommt.

Schon oft erwähnt hier aber die Stimmung ist unterirdisch. Es wird starke Druck ausgeübt um höhere Chargeability zu erreichen. Dass die Senior Managers selber aber nicht auslastbar sind ist anscheinend kein Problem.

Schlecht. Es wird Werbung für 'Good Change Management' gemacht aber selber kriegen die Senior Managers nicht mal eine ordentliche Struktur und Kultur eingeführt. Der Unterschied zwischen was gesagt wird und am Ende gemacht wird ist gigantisch.
Salary/Social benefits
Gehalt liegt deutlich unter Marktdurchschnitt. Im Bewerbungsprozess wird mit zusätzliche Bonus gelockt, ist sehr Account-spezifisch wie hoch diese am Ende ausfällt. Rechne mit nichts, dann kann man nur positiv überrascht werden.

Schwach, es gibt keine Gleichbehandlung von Frauen/Männern was Salär angeht und ältere Kollegen sind zu teuer, und damit ungern gesehen.

What I like about the employer
If you want to take responsibility & drive topics, you can do so even if they're not at all in scope of your "normal" job description.
Suggestions for improvement
Create more opportunities for employees to see each other "live" - in accordance with Covid19 regulations of course. Arcondis weekend for example
Working atmosphere
Amongst the consulting workforce a nice sense of supporting each other. Project work & surrounding team members are mostly seen as the "homebase". Sense of alienation towards (senior) management.

Not widely known, a bit more niche. For those who know it, a small consultancy providing more than high-level strategic "blabla". Image has suffered from the turmoil of internal transformation.

Very flexible working hours- Arcondis doesn't care that much, as long as i t works with the client & project hours. Part-time work is possible, vacation can be handed in on very short notice. Over-time lets you advance faster (which I think is natural if you invest x-fold amout of time and effort), but is in no way expected or mandatory - which is rare in consulting

Trainingplan for each individual employee in accordance with their short- and long-term career goals, tranining budget is provided. A bit of drive sides employee is needed to really push through- it's not presented on a silver platter

A bit under industry standard of consulting, however, only 40 h expected instead of 55+ at larger consultancies

- Sustainability has never been mentioned in any kind of way, e.g. initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, etc. are non-existant - Flying to team/company events for short distances was seen as normal before the pandemic - Social responsibilty is a long-term goal, no action so far

Of course depends on who you work with, but personally, I really enjoy my team. A lot of laughter, collaboration, and pulling each other through the "lows".

Have never witnessed neither any exclusionary behaviour, nor any extra benefits. Team events are planned in such a way, that everyone, independant of physical condition, can participate.

- Organization was struggling with teal vs. top-down decision making, which was not always elegantly handled by management - Dedicated responsible for settling/counseling disputes amongst employees - Some management members struggle with control, micro-management, empowering employees - Improvements in the structure & mindset are ongoing, unfortunately this does not happen overnight
Working conditions
Offices in Reinach are quite horrible, which is known to everyone. Since most consultants don't go there frequently when on client projects, it has been tolerated. Moving to much nicer facilites is currently in discussion - fingers crossed! IT & home office equipment could be more readily provided (external monitors, Jabra, etc) and labtops of higher performance. iPhone is provided.
Communication
Could honestly be better; the rumour mill works perfectly and important decisions are often communicated to late from senior mgmt, so that everyone has already heard speculations about it.
Equality
Equal pay, no exclusionary behaviour based on ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality. Company is very open-minded in general. 1 woman in senior mgmt, which could be better, but IT consulting still attracts more male candidates.
Interesting tasks
Name of the game is IT-related consulting in different forms (agile projectmgmt, OCM, Compliance, digitalization, system implementations, ...) so if you like that, then it's interesting ;)

Albeit having issues in the past to connect individuals on both a personal and professional level, the recent influx of fresh faces has deeply impacted the overall work culture and atmosphere for the better. Albeit having significantly improved over the last year, we are still working towards expanding our global presence and truly establishing ourselves as a force in the consulting world. Like any company in transition (especially one that spans borders), cohesion can be something of a challenge. That said, I have witnessed a great deal more effort to treat Arcondis as one united entity, as opposed to "us vs. them". Speaking solely from my own perspective, I understand my role to be a part of a bigger picture; one that relies on collaboration and teamwork to bring ideas to life. I need my coworkers just as much as they need me, and I have found a great deal of success on account of my capacity to rely on others.

Arcondis operates on the basis of positive contribution. Everyone is given the opportunity to succeed and bring value, regardless of age.

I might be a "little fish" in the grander scheme of things, but I can't tell you how many times my superiors have ensured that I am aware that their jobs wouldn't be possible without my contribution. It's very much appreciated.

I am provided with all of the materials I require to complete my job effectively. Our actual infrastructure is currently a bit lackluster, but this issue is currently under review.

To parrot my previous statement, communication was something of an issue in the past and for some, continues to be something of a sore spot. However, new management has widely acknowledged this issue as an area that requires improvement and is actively working towards a future that prioritizes transparency. Speaking solely from my personal experiences, I have always been communicated with re: areas of concern, etc in a professional and constructive manner that allows me to learn and grow.

We're getting there...leadership is certainly aware of the ratio to men and women on the team, but it's a work in progress. I trust that this issue will continue to improve with time.

A big part of my job to dream up ideas to bring happiness to our team. For this reason, my job is a bit "ceiling-less"; there is no limit to the many fun things that have been (or may/will be) assigned to me :)

Toxicity and negativity. Measures and decisions that negatively impact employees are not communicated openly.
Suggestions for improvement
Throw out bad apples. Start listening to feedback instead of sugarcoating / holding back information.
Working atmosphere
Negative. Lots of mistrust and fear going around. People that adhere to and promote the views of the management will get promoted. Criticism is met with strong opposition.

Fact: communication has been the weakest (but most important!) point since leadership change and the 'transformation' started. Anything that would not go down well with employees was forced through and presented after final decision was made. Even though feedback was requested, none of the decisions were altered/reversed.

Very good. Of course in the upper ranks it is a battlefield - but that is expected for a consulting company or any other company in general.

Currently viewed partly as bodyleasing company partly strategic. We want to move more in the direction of the latter, efforts are going on but we really need to push this.

Reall dependent on project phases. Sometimes a wild ride. Consulting itself is well - consulting. You sometimes have to work really hard (e.g. final weeks of a project) there the worklife balance is on hold for some time. But that is honestly part of consulting itself. On the other hand you have a lot of flexibility and can work whenever you want to. It is just not a 9-5 job.
Career/Professional development
The freedom to delevop yourself in whatever direction you want to. You can change as you wish the department you are in - very nice. You get a lot of trust instatly from your superiors. Flat hierachies, and this is no bussword. Every cosultant has a say and is on the same level. Juniors are valued and can talk to senior consultants face to face without restritions. Of course every one has a superior but it doesnt get more flat that the model there is currently. The collegues are very helpfull and also very insightful. For a consulting company there are quite some SMEs from whom you can learn a lot.
Salary/Social benefits
The salary expecially for juniors is rather low - but promotions are also very fast to an acceptable level. The problem here is at it is no 9.5 job, it should be rewarded more than regular industry jobs. That is also why a lot of consultants generelly change after Arcondis to the industry. Arcondis needs to set better incentives to keep the high talents. This may have been one of the reasons for high fluctuations. With the newCEO two additional holyday are back which were cut last year - the Leadership does listen to its employees but more could be done. More Benefits even some small ones would be appreciated. I mean we get special christmas presents and (pre covid) a lot of free afterwork drink partys :) BUT I mean in the end we are there for the money.

Best Ive ever worked with. The highworkload periods forges the team together eventhough sometimes you are annoyed at each other :D. Always a friendly atmosphere where y ou can approach anyone whatever his position. Biggest plus point for Arcondis!

Very dependend on the superior.. some are good some are mediocre but they all care atleast for their employees in their own way. It is very individual. Me personally I am on a good level with most :).
Working conditions
Offices in Reinach are at least mediocre. It is in the middle of nowhere and not good connected. They should move the offices to a more approachable stop somewhere in basel. BUT again as a consultant you are really rarely at the offices but rather at the client site (atleast in pre Covid times) so it doesnt matter much. Anyway you get a free iPhone :D.
Communication
Mediocre - Most of the times it is good but sometimes not. E.g. two holidays got cut by just sending an email - then later on reinstated. But I can see a somewhat upward trend.
Equality
We now have a diversity squad which raises the topic of having more females in the leadership team and generelly as we are still under par. So moving in the right direction. BUT In my experience the female collegues are most of the time way more qualified then the male counterparts! (:P)
Interesting tasks
If you are lucky there can be VERY interesting projects. Projects can be very strategic like other "textbook" big4 projects. But can also be very boring software implementations :D. As a junior you dont really have a say in where you get staffed, but as you get more contacts within the company and proactivly approach people and communicate your intestest you increase you chances of getting staffed properly. But well project standard is on par with industry standard. Dont actually see a lot of potential to improve it - it is just the way it is.
