QUMEA creates a warm, collaborative space during the interview itself, but closing the loop with automated rejection emails misses the opportunity to treat candidates with the same human care and respect they experience in the room.

Application Process: The process was simple and efficient. Initial outreach was via email with a convenient link to self-schedule the screening call.

Interview Atmosphere: The interview itself was very welcoming, pleasant and structured as a collaborative discussion, with ample room provided for candidate questions.

Areas for Improvement:

Pre-Interview Engagement: It would be great to share prep materials prior to the interview such as links to videos about upcoming priorities, strategic goals, leadership and vision/mission/values to help candidates align early.

Cultural Fit Assessment: Cultural fit, learning agility and attitude could easily be assessed through a light, gamified self-assessment prior to the main onsite interview.

Post-Interview Feedback: Receiving a generic, standard rejection email ("we have decided to continue the recruitment process with other candidates whose profiles currently match our requirements a little more closely") after investing time onsite with senior leadership feels transactional and devaluing. Personalised feedback via a brief call is essential to explain the criteria behind the decision and treat candidates with lasting respect.
